The countdown to Flame Con begins
Just like that, July ends and chapter 2 of our convention circuit begins
After one hell of a July slog, working insane hours at the print shop, I took a mini vacation to Crater Lake with En. I wrote about it in my blog! You can read about it and see pics.
Unfortunately, right before we left for Crater Lake, shit started hitting the fan at itch.io thanks to the techno censorship monopolies of Visa and Mastercard. Now you can’t find Howl via the itch.io search function, along with hundreds of other works, because some puritanical oligarchs are scared of things like furries and pee. If you’re at all interested in fighting against this, you can check out this website https://yellat.money/
In the meantime, the best way to support my work is still Patreon, and I have all my adult content on Subscribe Star as a back up, as well. I was about to post Amira the Van Life Cunt (Issue 1) to itch.io, but now I’m waiting for the dust to settle before I go uploading anything new there. For now, she remains on Patreon, Subscribe Star, and in print via my online shop.
Anyway, no more bummers. On with the show!
Flame Con, baby!
I’m so honored to announce that I’m a special guest this year at Flame Con in NYC!! I’ll see you Aug 16-17. I’ll have some special books that aren’t available anywhere else quite yet ;) In theory! The Shepherd’s Sword Volume 1 should be in my hands before Flame Con if the printer is able to keep to the deadline!

After Flame Con, I’ll be at Rose City Comic Con, NYCC, and then Portland Zine Symposium, which is in November this year. So mostly just Portland and NYC for the second half of the year! I might make it to CALA? We’ll see :^)
The Shepherd’s Sword
Chapter 6 is going on right now. It’s Nieve’s adventure chapter! There is a month coming up where we’ll take a short pause on this chapter, and the updates will be the bonus art from The Shepherd’s Sword Volume 1. I actually just wrote about the project on my blog. If you’re curious about the process of making a webcomic into a self-pub graphic novel, check it out!

The pre-orders for The Shepherd’s Sword Volume 1 are still open. It’s not to late to reserve your copy and help fund the printing!! Are you behind on reading TSS? Are weekly updates hard to read? Good news, despite everything, the digital version of TSS Vol 1 is available here.
And look, the hard copy proof!!

July Patreon Rewards
Available only July 2025 (and maybe at conventions)!! This month’s mail club designs are sweet, floral, and lucky. Join the mail club by July 31 and I’ll send you these this weekend!

And for those waiting for Amira the Van Life Cunt (Issue 3), well, here’s a little character exploration for someone we’ll be meeting soon. Uncensored for Horn Dog tiers and up!

What else did I do this month, hmm…
En and I did Anime Expo for the first time, and WOW. I think we worked the hardest we’ve ever worked at a show, with the longest hours. Would I do it again? Read about it on the blog!
I don’t think I have much to report on this month because I’ve been busy covering shifts at the print shop. I did make progress on my back tattoo with Willis. There’s only one session left, and if Flame Con treats me niceys, I’ll be able to get the final color on it by the end of August.
One responsible thing I did this month was go to my physical and a dermatology appointment to have something biopsied. Everything is normal and healthy. I’m just waiting for that $1000 dermatology bill hah hah hah. Hah.
I’ve been trying to hang out with friends more and do things outside of the house. After Crater Lake, En and I went to a friend’s birthday at the river, followed by the soft opening for Field Day. It’s a new bookshop and hangout space in Portland, and I love Kitty, and I can’t wait to spend time there. If you’re local to Portland, go check them out. I signed a bunch of books and zines there! Hard open is August 7. Maybe we’ll run into each other there!
2025 New Years Goals Assessment
I am taking Spanish class twice a week right now, which was one of my goals for the year. My French accent is so strong, it wants to escape my mouth every time I try to pronounce words that end in “-able” or words that have silent “H”. That said, this class would be much more difficult if I didn’t already have French.
I haven’t volunteered outdoors yet, but I have signed up for a few volunteer lists. It just hasn’t panned out that I am available when the events are going on. Maybe this is a goal for a year when I’m traveling less. And my goal to start a new trad pub work, well, that’s not really in my hands. I have some more pitches I could be working on, but while one is currently out on submission, it’s hard for me to find the energy to work on those when I could be working on my own self pub stuff.
I haven’t hit the goal of Patreon paying for my monthly expenses yet, but I’ve come close! And I’m still on my way to paying down my credit card for good. That’s a goal that I should hit in October.
The remaining two goals are working on Boyish Girlish and Dyke’s Tale [working title], which I am doing slowly but surely. They’re the projects taking priority over creating new trad pub pitches. I have to follow the creative juice wherever it flows, yknow?
I dunno! I’m being kind to myself. Some years I have no problem reaching all my goals, and I think this year I put a lot on my plate to challenge myself. But now I’m finding new things I want to try, like sculpting weird creatures out of clay. Stay tuned for that.
I won’t be making it to our annual October camping trip this year, since all my friends have decided to start getting married at the same time, and they all live in the Northeast. It’s a year of change and growth and saving money for weddings.
Now I’m rambling. I think I’m procrastinating. That’s enough!!
Here’s some sweet treats for you to check out:
GLIMM*R Magazine Volume 2 is live!! VIVE LA YURI!!
OH YEAH one really exciting thing that happened is I posted about a song that has been my favorite song for like 10 years and I didn’t know the name of it or the artist and I couldn’t find it anywhere online. And then a fellow artist found my reel and said, “omg that’s one of my fave music artists, that’s Sayde Price, I’ve loved this song for forever” And it was a magical exchange and an end to a decade long quest. Thank you Hannah! I hope to see you at Rose City!!
Whistle and I Will Come Home by Val K Wise is a WIP project, but it’s so cool.
Help the Ayesh family.
Help the Majed family.
The Last Fifteen Minutes by Shing Yin Khor launches soon. I feel emotional about it already.
polygon is dead, here's some other sites people have recommended that are doing good work.
