August is coming to a close, and I am so happy to be home and not travelling for at least a month and a half. My cat is happy, too. That being said…

NYC —> PDX —> NYC —> PDX

This time of year, if I’m not in my cute apartment in Portland, I’m in the exact clone of my apartment in NYC (aka Catskullery and Liv’s apartment that has the same TV stand and a flame point cat). I just got back from Flame Con, where I was invited as a special guest! There will be a write up about the show on my blog soon, but the summary is: it was so fun :^)

Up next: Rose City Comic Con, Sept 5-7 right here in Portland. I’ll be at table K14 with En. We’ll have Catskullery, Fawnduu, Eli, Misha, Carly, Cam, Katie, Jax, and MK, and a whole bunch more really cool artists. Honestly, RCCC is going to be STACKED. Come say hi!!

Rose City leads to New York Comic Con! It is October 9-12. My table number is C43! It’ll be my first time at NYCC, and I’m a little nervous, but mostly super excited. Come support weird lesbian art and stories!!

Then the last thing on the schedule (so far) for the autumn is Portland Zine Symposium. I’ll be at PSU’s Ballroom on Sunday November 9. There will be different tablers on November 8, so make sure you come both days.

As of right now, that’s it for 2025, but who knows. November and December could still have a couple more in em ;)

Juliet and the East

I finished a mini comic for Juliet and the East! It’s a magical girl manga that goes along with an album. You can check it out here. It was so fun to do, and I was so happy to work with Juliet and co. on this badass project!! This project let me indulge in the magical girl manga style that got me started drawing when I was a kid. I enjoyed the sparkles, the color-led narrative, and designing a scary, dripping, tentacled kaiju. Many thanks to Juliet and the East!

What else did I do this month, hmm…

Prince came to visit! We got dinner with friends and watched Alien Stage. The next day I had a fun run around town doing errands and visiting pals. I wrote about it in this blog post!

I got into ceramics this month and started sculpting little trinkets and good luck charms and really just whatever I felt like sculpting. I had such a weird time this summer feeling really uninspired, burnt out, and overwhelmed by life. Trying a new medium really helped my brain, and it was just fun to make something with no attachments or expectations.

Flame Con was also Tay’s birthday weekend, so I was really happy and lucky to be able to spend time with my friends in NYC for that.
