Shh sleepy December, end of year, resting

Give yourself permission to snooze. Join a union and make it mandatory snooze time.

December is cold and the days are short. I am playing a lot of Splatoon and trying to take it easy on myself in preparation for a busy 2023. I think the entire month of December should be a paid vacation month for the entire northern hemisphere. Same for June in the southern hemisphere, or whichever month is the coldest and most miserable. Add this to the 4 day work week, 20 hr/week, $69/hr pay rate manifesto.

Here’s a recap on December and a look at what’s coming up next!

The Shepherd’s Sword chapter 3 is coming to a close! Perfectly timed with the end of the year. Which means I will be putting together print copies of The Shepherd’s Sword part 2 for conventions and events. TSS is going to take a short break in January while I script, thumb, and begin chapter 4!You can read The Shepherd’s Sword on Tapas, Tumblr, and Patreon (where you can get a full month’s worth of pages early!)

Here’s December’s mail club rewards! Come get some >:)

I am working on a ton of ZINES!!! I’m working on these for cons next year. Here’s a look at Peepee’s zine called Girl Orange. My girlfriend En and I are working on it together.

All of the zines I’m working on this month will be available on Patreon before anywhere else. Including this one below! It’s a zine on being physically active despite having a desk job.

Here’s some sweet treats for you to check out:

  • Did you know you can see some spicy comics on my itch.io? My comics are on sale right now in a bundle! Check it out!!!

  • Also with Twitter crashing and burning (lolololol so funny to me) here’s a reminder that I’m on Tumblr. I’m also on Instagram, but Tumblr is way more fun.

  • I recently read Kate Beaton’s memoire Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands, and man, it really stuck with me. I highly recommend it.

  • I went to some cool events this week! One of the events was at Floating World Comics in our abandoned mall where a friend of mine had a book release and I got to read a part of the comic. It was super fun! Check out Floating World and get a copy of Live Rock from Ross Jackson. It’s riso. It takes place in Florida. You’ll love it. (note: at time of writing, I can’t find an online shop link anywhere for Live Rock, but I’m sure if you email Floating World, they’ll hook you up.)

Cheers!

Ren

PS: If you want more content that isn’t in this newsletter, I recommend joining my Patreon for some exclusive work every month like comics, sketchbook pages, spicy drawings, and some mail rewards!
