Rare, once-a-year event!

A sale in my online shop, plus a special announcement for locals

Surprise! En and I will be tabling at a little market this month in St Johns here in Portland. It’s at Daydreamer Coffee, and we will be there (almost) every Sunday in December from 9-2. Catch us with a selection of goods on December 1, 8, and 22, along with a bunch of other local crafty people, and finish off your holiday shopping. Amira won’t be there, I’m sorry. She’s promised to CALA and the year 2025. But I’ll have other treats for you, don’t worry ;)

Speaking of CALA, that is coming up! December 14-15, En and I will be posted up at table 17A. Los Angeles, I hope you are sunny and ready for early access to everything that I’m publishing in 2025.

Not in Portland or LA? Don’t worry, I have something for you, too! 👇

Shop SALE :0

This weekend only, I have a sale going on in my online shop! I almost never do these, so if you’ve been waiting to grab something, this is your chance. The deal is if you spend $25 (USD) or more you get 25% off your order!

Use code: STRAPPED25

It’s good until Monday night PST. If you’re in Canada or the EU/Northern Ireland, scroll below these images for important shipping info. If you’re not from those places, continue on to the next section of this email :)

Hello Canadians. Your postal service is on strike. Good for them!! Solidarity with workers everywhere! Unfortunately, the USPS is suspending service to Canada until Canada Post is no longer striking. If this impacts your ability to take advantage of the sale this weekend, reply to this email and tell me what items you’re trying to order. I’ll hold onto them for you and honor the discount when the post office is back online.

Hello Europeans. My online shop fulfillment crew, White Squirrel, has informed me that shipping to the EU/Northern Ireland will continue as normal until December 19. That’s when WS takes a break for the holidays, and they will be suspending shipping to Europe until the new regulations and guidelines are made more clear for small businesses. (This is also the part where I plug my book, How Could You, which comes out December 17. I don’t know if the new regulations will impact it, but just in case… grab yours now!)

Patreon is now giftable!

They finally did it, the mad lads. A long requested feature of Patreon, being able to gift a subscription to a friend, is now finally available. Here’s the link to gifting my Patreon to the pervert lesbian in your life.

“Heavyweight Desk Jockey World Champ” has a new home with Crucial Comix!

I made this riso zine at the beginning of the year, dedicated to my love of weight lifting and taking care of my one and only comic-making-machine (aka my body). Shay Mirk at Crucial Comix graciously offered to host it on their website, alongside other incredible non-fiction comics. What an honor, truly. If you haven’t read “Heavyweight Desk Jockey World Champ” yet, now’s your chance. And when you’re done, check out Crucial Comix’s whole library!

The Shepherd’s Sword

The Shepherd’s Sword has a new home online! You can read (and subscribe) at theshepherdssword.com to get every weekly update emailed to you. Never miss an update! This is also where I’ll post extras like character bios. I’m still working out all the specifics, so get in now to see this website at its weirdest.

What else did I do this month, hmm…

Personally, this week has been a lot of hours at the print shop where I moonlight, since it’s the holidays and I’m covering for someone who took time off for family. The result is I didn’t work on any of my big projects and just drew lots of Shep and Wayne doodles in the evenings after my shifts. Picture me: tired, bedraggled, psychically linked to my desk but unable to open up comic pages, thinking about Sevika from Arcane and channeling her into my OCs… Honestly not a bad way to spend the week, but it’s a horrific cocktail of “technically yes it’s a holiday week, and technically yes I didn’t work on my main stuff, but I can’t say I’m actually more rested.”

Whatever, I’m not complaining. Like I said, it actually made me draw for fun for once, so it’s a nice change of pace! And because I’m 30 working a customer service gig and not my meek 22-year-old self, I get to tell people to go to hell when they’re mean to me. (JOKING!) I actually tell them, “Hey, man… It’s the holidays. I don’t know what you want from me.”

Oh, and I’m on Bluesky. I have been for a while now, but it seems like this month is the month that people finally started switching over. I really like having specific feeds so I only see original posts from people I follow. It helps reduce the social media overwhelm for sure.

Here’s some sweet treats for you to check out:
