May I interest you in a story?
I got a few!
Back from Toronto! It was my first time ever in that city, and my first time ever at TCAF. I had such a great time! I wrote a blog about it, so I don’t have to take up time here in the newsletter. Usually my blog updates on Mondays, but I want to send this newsletter out now, and it’s also my house, my rules. So as a treat, special blog update today for you to read. There’s a gallery at the bottom of that post where you can see pics of my haul. Let me know if you want to know more info about any of the work featured in those photos!
Enjoy your weekend! And hello to new subscribers from Toronto!!
Next event:
TCAF was the first show of the summer, and now we’re on to the rest :^) Not included in this graphic, I’ll be doing an impromptu popup at Rose City Comics on June 28 from 5-8!! Come say hi if you’re in Portland. More details to come on that soon.
Did you know Rose City Comics, back when it was called Bridge City Comics, was my regular go-to shop and the first place to stock ancient zines I made? If you were there in 2020… iykyk.

Summer Story Fest will be at Outlet/Sonny’s House in the courtyard at the end of June. This will be my third time doing this event, and it’s something I look forward to every year. I always go home with the best art.
I’m only at Anime Expo by the grace of En, who is actually the one who got a table, and it’ll be our first time there. I know it’s such a huge event… I’ll be hiding under the table mostly, I think.
Then we’ll be at Flame Con! This one is a surprise :)c I’ll be doing a panel there, too, so I hope to see you in New York.
Then we’re rounding out the summer back in Portland with Rose City, my beautiful hometown con <3
The Shepherd’s Sword, Volume I
It’s here! Finally coming to print in full color, the first half of this webcomic will be collected in a beautiful perfect bound book. I’ve been working on The Shepherd’s Sword for four years, and I’m so excited to hold it in my hands.

There will be bonus illustrations provided by some of my incredibly talented comic friends Emma Oosterhous (Grand Slam Romance), Fawnduu (My Dragon Girlfriend), Cam McCafferty (Agent Izzy Bunny, 202X), Adeline Kon (Just Between Us, 2026), and more. Don’t miss out!
PS: The black and white floppies of parts 1 and 2 are still on sale as a bundle (two for the price of one). If you can’t swing a pre-order of Volume I right now, picking up these soon-to-be ultra rare zines helps!
The Shepherd’s Sword
Did you read the latest pages on theshepherdssword.com ? 🙂 I really like them 🙂 The latest update is a special two-page update. Go to the site to see the other half!

Armpit Love Letters
Maybe we were inspired by the endless flood of creativity at TCAF, but when we all got home, me and my friends made a silly zine celebrating armpits :^) You can download a readable and printable PDF on itch.io FOR FREE!!!! YAY!!!!
It really goes to show… anyone can make anything.

Amira the Van Life Cunt, issue 2
I finished and released Amira the Van Life Cunt, issue 2 “Amira in Barrel’s Bottom” to Patreon last month, and so many people at TCAF were hyping her up to me :’) I started scripting issue 3 while on the flight over to Toronto, and it’s really gonna be the most annoying, hottest, and pathetic installment yet.
If you find van life influencers fascinating and want to live vicariously through a horny dyke vagabond, make sure you’re all caught up on Amira! We haven’t seen the last of Bunny (or Skylar…)

June Patreon Rewards
First off: I am sorry for the delay in April/May sticker sending! I ran out of both envelopes and stamps at the same time, then I had to leave town for TCAF. I’ll be packaging and sending the stragglers out this weekend.
In the meantime, this month’s rewards are about things I care about a lot: trans rights and health, and our environment and climate change. Choose your tier and get the sticker, or the sticker + print mailed to you next month!

Bonus, I just added the above design to my Threadless, where 100% of my profit gets donated to National Queer & Trans Therapists of Color Network!
For Horn Dog tiers and up, June’s NSFW is still in the works, but let’s all take a look at last month’s illustration together once more 🤤

What else did I do this month, hmm…
I had a very calm and relaxing May, and now June is the kick off to being busy again. I’m in crunch mode working on a couple projects that I can’t wait to share with you, just not yet. One thing is a series of magical girl manga-inspired drawings for a local girl band, and I’ll leave it at that. I’m STOKED!!
Tomorrow I’m getting my back tattooed again to do the shading on my upper back piece with Willis Nutt. Pray for me, it hurt so bad last time LOL I also have to prepare for my guest teaching spot for Joaquin’s course with Crucial Comix about making sexy comics. I’m pretty nervous, but since making the armpit zine with friends, I’m reassured in my ability to convey sexy drawings to a group, informationally of course.
Oh, and if you’re a comic maker in Portland and want to come to a chill comics event in the park… hit me up. That’s more for next month.
Here’s some sweet treats for you to check out:

Time is Running Out! cool website to document the end of the world
Just listened to the audiobook of The Starving Saints by Caitlin Starling. It’s scratching an itch left by Lapvona and The Locked Tomb. That link is to indiebound, but I recommend Libby
In the panel I was a part of on Friday before TCAF, I mentioned neocities. Look at the kind of art you can make!! UGH. I WANT TO CODE. I WANT MY FREE TIME BACK SO I CAN MAKE STUFF LIKE THIS.
My friend Bond just opened their print shop in Tallahassee! Go work with them because they’ve made some of my most favorite art books and zines in the world.
I’ve been hypnotized by the paintings of Maud Madsen lately.
