Fire and salt will melt ice

I'm gonna give you something good to look at. You've been looking at bad stuff lately, I can tell.

Hello everypony. What a year! (It’s only February.) There are ghouls at every turn, and justice will be satisfactory and thorough and soon… What more can be said? I hope you’re hanging in there and finding ways to help yourself and others survive. We’re in this together. There is light on the horizon. STAY STRONG. KEEP FIGHTING!!

Support Minnesota

I have friends and loved ones in Minnesota. Minnesotans are some of the bravest people I know. You’ve seen it. Every day they face unreasonable levels of danger to protect each other. They are running ICE out of their homes and god willing, we will all run these failson cringe larping chuds out of this fucked up country.

Anyway, I donated some sticker designs to Nova and Mali’s fundraiser. The money earned from your purchase will be split between Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota and The Food Group MN.

The ICE MELTER burning salt shaker sticker is perfect for your car window, but it’s also available with a white background if that fits your vibe more. If you prefer a die cut sticker, I made the ice melt jug with a hissing cat. Northerners get it.

There are a ton more really amazing bumper stickers from other talented artists. It goes to a good cause, and then you can show no fear. Put it on your car. We won’t back down.

BONUS: If you want to take something to your local print shop and plaster them around your town, simply save this image file, and use it well 👇

I’m so excited for this lineup, but also I’m gonna sleep all June lmao.

Comics Progress Report

At the end of 2025, all my comics were in the same stage of development. That’s bad and evil. It is not fun for every project to be in the pencils/script stage. It’s very tedious and creatively boring. But NOW… I’m back to a nice staggered workflow. I’ve found balance and harmony!

  • Boot humping comic (written by Aphy Ray): inks are DONE!!!!! Now it’s time for fun coloring!! (Well, first a detail pass for additional inks, then flats, but THEN—)

  • Amira the Van Life Cunt, issue 3: no progress! Still on hiatus until a little later this year. Good news, I solved some problems with the writing I was running up against, I think. That said, you can download issue 2 on itch.io now!

  • The Tale of the Royal Equinox Rager (pitch packet) co-authored by Jessica Delphi: DONE!!! The pitch is basically done and is being evaluated by my beautiful agent. We’ll get notes soon and go from there, but I’m very excited about this project, fellas.

  • The Shepherd’s Sword: Chapter 7 is ongoing! I just uploaded pages 21-24 to Patreon. If you’re behind on this chapter, go ahead and get started reading at theshepherdssword.com

  • Volleyball comic (TBA): I’m doing a two page volleyball comic for a sports anthology! More info soon, but I wrapped those pages last night.

  • Boyish Girlish: … they’re knocking on the door. They want to be let out. I can’t let them out yet. I’m not ready, the world isn’t ready. Let them stay in and bake a little longer. Just know that this comic is being incubated.

  • Invasive Species: I’m going to do a risograph run of this hot horny comic I made with Mel Gillman! If all goes according to plan, I’ll have these for ECCC and all the other shows this year ;^)

The Shepherd’s Sword

My favorite page that I’ve made in the past several months finally went live!!!!!! I love this page. I love how I drew the motion blur of the red glowing eyes and how I colored the whole scene. Plus, werewolf Wayne looks so badass. You can read The Shepherd’s Sword for free at theshepherdssword.com

Wayne is stopped from biting Shep's throat by a shout. Jo grabs Wayne's sword and stands off against the giant monster.

On February 22, I’ll be hosting another video call! Last month’s was so fun, with author Aphy Ray and Fawnduu. We’ll be doing it again! Come, join us for an hour with a cup of coffee. No pressure to talk or have video on, you can just type and listen and chill. I want to talk about cons and events and travel!!! Curious? Wanna hang? Join the Lucky Tier and you’ll get access to the link.

Let's Hang Out on Feb 22 video call

Also this month’s sketchbook update was really, really juicy!! Full of fun drawings and exploration and practice. I’m very proud of it.

What else did I do this month, hmm…

Last month, I got to spend time with my gay freaky little fam in Upstate New York. I wrote about it on my blog. I’m grateful for my friends ❤️ We went out for dinner at a nice restaurant and hung out by the fireplace and played games for a long weekend.

Cait took En and I to see No Other Choice in 35mm at the Hollywood, and I really liked it. It was a weirdly calming movie, even though it’s quite intense. I had a good time watching! En and I went to Eli’s birthday, which was a PowerPoint night. I learned a lot about clam chowder, among other things. And I got my back tattoo touched up by Willis! Yay Willis!

The weather has been pleasant in Portland this past month. We took advantage of a sunny day and did a photoshoot for Cam’s new Agent Izzy Bunny merch. Cam’s a genius. The lesbian bunnies are hot. The tote bag rules. You’re gonna love this book.

I started therapy again, which is cool and none of your business, but I’m normalizing mental health care by mentioning it. Honestly, there’s not a lot extra that I did this month. I’ve been pretty much head down in the mines working on stuff and trying to not let the winter and current events beat me down. Choose joy. Be good. Stay safe. Fight hard. Love you bye!

Here’s some sweet treats for you to check out:

  • Young in Iran, a collection of 32 personal and emotional memoir comics by Gen Z comic creators in Iran

  • There’s gonna be a submission announcement for Bonedust Press and Wildstar Press coming tomorrow 👀👀 Keep your eyes out for this opportunity for both writers and artists! https://www.bonedustpress.com/

  • Aphy’s been working on a visual novel for Fawnduu’s Big Cats. We got to play a bit of it at Courtney’s house this month, and it’s like, SO FUCKING GOOD.

  • Microsoft has fucked ripping CDs. They shut down the server that retrieves music metadata, so if you try to rip CDs the tracks show up as “unknown album, unknown artist”. Am I ancient?????? Someone on Tumblr recommended this site as a third party alternative: https://www.freac.org/

  • I’m currently doing a sale for Valentine’s on itch.io, and so is Fawnduu! Check out our wares, and enjoy! You can get the second issue of Amira the Van Life Cunt for cheap this week.

  • Applications are open for Summer Story Fest! It’s a really great show in Portland, and so many cool artists show up. Mark your calendars, and if you make comics/books, consider applying!

  • Catskullery did a very sexy promo for Cerberus Leather Works.
