Do you wanna hang out?
I'm doing something new for 2026. It will be fun!
Over the holidays, I spent some time thinking about my dreams for 2026. How to build community in ways that are achievable? And sustainable? And fulfilling? How to share more of my art practice with the world?
Answer: let’s do a video call :)
Monthly Hangs
In an experimental trial, I’ll be hosting a small group video call (zoom style, where you can share your video/screen if you want) and we can talk shop, process, do Q&A, hang out, catch up, drink coffee, share our latest obsessions, inspirations, and projects. Is it a mentorship? Perhaps. But it doesn’t need to be, if you just want to come hang out.
To keep it simple, I’m organizing these via Patreon. If you join the Lucky tier, I’ll send you a link to a one hour call that will be on Sunday mornings (Pacific time). For now these will just be once a month, but I might increase the frequency or add another day of the week or time slot if we like them! Plus tier members get all the benefits of all the other tiers.
For now, the hangouts are limited to 20 people, just to keep it easy and organized while I test it out, so if you think you’d like to check it out, don’t wait! Also, you can drop any time. Literally no worries at all, no explanation needed. This is soooo non committal and chill and fun!
PS: I might blog more about how this idea came to be over on my blog on Wednesday.
What’s on the winter/spring 2026 agenda?
Later this month, I’ll be visiting friends for a winter artist retreat of sorts. One final relaxation before getting back into the swing of con season. If you wanna say hi in real life, here’s where I’ll be this spring (so far)
ECCC - back again at my FAVORITE big convention, the one that makes me feel at home and warm and inspired. I’ll be in Seattle on March 5-8 with my pals :) Come say hi! It’s the best show of the year!! I’ll have lots of new stuff that I didn’t have in Seattle last year.
Squatchcon - ok so it’s not official yet, but I really hope they let me in and I get to be in Port Angeles for my birthday, April 9-12! Even if I’m not there, you really ought to check it out. It’s such a cutie little show, and Port Angeles is fun to visit.
Alaska Comics Camp - I’ll be in Juneau for a retreat and one-day mini con! The con is on May 9, and it will be my first ever time in Alaska. Come say hi!
Maybe C2E2? I don’t wanna jinx it… but I hope to go to Chicago again ❤️
And that would be it for my winter/spring 2026 activities, apart from maybe Summer Story Fest here in Portland in June. I’ve done a lot of convention experimentation in the past 5 years, and I’m pretty content with the shows that are my most favorite. It’s nice to have a concise, tight list of shows that I love to do!
Comics Progress Report
December was a wash for a lot of reasons, from the holiday travel to being slammed at the print shop and covering shifts for my coworker, I haven’t made as much progress as I would have liked on my comics projects. That said, here’s where each of them stand:
Boot humping comic (written by Aphy Ray): need to ink 7 pages, and then it’s just fun coloring!
Amira the Van Life Cunt, issue 3: no progress! I am maybe reworking the finale in my head right now since Amira’s doppelganger entered my mind. Things are looking good for Bunny is all I’ll say about that.
The Tale of the Royal Equinox Rager (pitch packet) co-authored by Jessica Delphi: flatting almost complete with only 4 more pages left. Then it’s rendering and making character sheets.
The Shepherd’s Sword: still going! A normal, nice drum beat of a comic for me to fiddle with on days when my energy levels are low

Here’s a sneak peek at some Amira doodles I’ve been warming up with to keep her fresh while she’s on hiatus. Horn Dog tiers and up get to meet Yulia right now.
The Shepherd’s Sword
We’ve started Chapter 7!! Are you behind? Catch up now! Shep’s about to meet the werewolf… You can read it at theshepherdssword.com
January Mail Club
One of my plans for this winter is reformatting the plant lesbian sex comic I made with Mel Gillman in 2024 to be printed in a limited riso run! For January’s mail club, the mini print is an exploration of the front cover, and the sticker is Garlic Mustard herself ❤️ The comic will tentatively be printed in red and green riso ink and include three pages of bonus illustrations, but more info on that once I get closer to production.
What else did I do this month, hmm…
With all the uncertainty in the air right now, if you want to help someone I know and love, you can give my Venezuelan bestie your gringo dollars. Dabi and I have been friends for 10 years, and he’s one of my closest friends. He did the print formatting for The Shepherd’s Sword Volume 1. He’s the reason Yona is Venezuelan in How Could You and says Venezuelan slang words. He’s hilarious and awesome and I love him.
If you saw me at TCAF in 2025, or VanCAF in 2024, you also probably met Dabi. He’s an amazing designer, and on top of supporting him via donation, you should consider hiring him for graphic and print design because he’s an absolute legend with great eye and taste.
His family in Venezuela are about to be in the most precedented of unprecedented times, so if you feel powerless and like you can’t do anything, the least you can do is throw a few bucks his way to keep him and his family stable.
Here’s his Paypal and here’s his brother’s Paypal. His brother Sebas is also a good kid. We’ve played Overwatch together. A little bit goes a long way to helping their family!
I’ve been in contact with Fend at Fine OK Press to get the In Their Clutches zine into production. I’ve seen the prints! They look DAMN GOOD. I’m waiting on some files to complete the riso print portion of the In Their Clutches zine, as well as the Villainess art book riso rewards. I can’t wait to see them, hold them in my real life hands.
In bad news, I ordered a second printing of The Shepherd’s Sword Volume 1, and half the books came soaking wet. The printer is being really good about replacing them, though! But until the replacements arrive, they told me to keep the soggy books. I don’t know what I’m doing with three boxes full of soggy books, but I assume it’s becoming a beautiful mold farm. Don’t tell En. They hate the idea of mold.
I organized an itty bitty gift exchange, En and I celebrated our 4th anniversary, and went to SoCal to see En’s family. And on New Years Day, I went on a hike with En and Cam. I love hiking on the first of the year! So fresh! We just saw No Other Choice at the Hollywood in 35mm, which was a great first movie of the year.
Apart from that, I worked crazy stupid hours at the print shop and almost lost my mind completely. Here’s to working fewer hours there and spending more hours drawing dykes for you!
Thank you to everyone who was kind to me in 2025, to all my friends, to everyone who sent me a holiday card, to my dearest loved ones, to new friends. The new year feels scary, but I know we’ll make it through as long as we have each other.
Here’s some sweet treats for you to check out:
Child Rebel Soldier by Chase USA is some really good music. Scratches a huge 00s emo/rap rock itch
I got some zines from Secret Room about Artist Publishing by Anemone Press: Notes on Artist Publishing and Taking Care of Yourself as an Artist Publisher!
Care for a meditative walk?
We hiked a short little city hike on January 1st: Newell Creek Canyon Nature Park
Skin Flick by GOBELINS. Yay freaky lesbian animation!
