All you can eat buffet of garlic mustard

A little mid-month check up šŸ‘

Okay, so since the last newsletter I sent out was pushing the length limit, I realized I might have to send two emails a month instead of one. This will be my pre-VanCAF email.

En and I will be at VanCAF this weekend in the gym at table M1, right next to our friend Cam McCafferty. I’ll also be part of a panel on Sunday at 11:15 about queer comics, trad vs self pub, and digital marketing/censorship. If you’re in the Vancouver area, please come to the Roundhouse on May 18-19! It’s my only Canada show for the year and my final show for spring.

Succulent Kickstarter ends May 15th!

The sexy park ranger x invasive plant girl comic I made with Mel Gillman is coming to print! ā€œInvasive Speciesā€ challenges you to put as much garlic mustard in your mouth as you can ;) The Kickstarter for Succulent ends at 4AM PDT on May 16, so you have tonight and tomorrow only to get your copy!

I’m moving!

En and I found a bigger apartment, so we can finally get the desk out of the bedroom. To help with moving costs, I have a sale going on from now through May 31.

All my digital zines are on sale via itch.io - they’re each 20% off or you can save 30% when you buy them all in a bundle!

For print zines, risographs, stickers, etc. you can take 20% off my online shop with code: MOVEIT

Illustration: I'm holding a huge stack of boxes while my cat pelts me with mousey toys. Text reads: moving sale! 20% off shop and itch.io. code: move it. may 10-31, 2024. zines, comics, prints, stickers, etc.

Keep Going

May Mail Club!

This month is dedicated to Yona! She’s a cutie pink girl and a hopeless romantic. Yona is one of the main girls from my debut graphic novel How Could You. Facts about Yona:

šŸŽ“ sophomore architecture majoršŸ„–on study abroad in Marseille😿Lou's exšŸ’– spending time with her bestie Olene!!

Join the mail club! I mail out April and May rewards at the end of the month (though it might be more like early June because of the move).

What else did I do this month, hmm…

I’ve been working on two new pitches, and another secret project… And wrapping up a long commission (which I hope to show you soon!) I also have a new OC named Amira Miles. She’s a van life influencer who goes from town to town to hook up with random girls and ghost them. She’s terrible! I love her!! She’s not in any comic or anything (yet) so I’m just having fun :^)

I’ve been coping with fatigue this month. I got covid in August last year, and I haven’t really been the same since, especially with the burnout I had been experiencing all last year. This month I’m finally listening to my body and not pushing myself. Lots of naps, lots of resting. Like… I can go to the gym, I can help friends install cabinets, but then I’m toast for the following 1-2 days. It didn’t used to be like this. Sigh.

But I’m using up all that resting to build up to moving at the end of the month! This means En and I have to cancel our planned camping trip, and we won’t be making it on a hike this month. But we’ll make up for it by doing two hikes in June.

And on top of moving, the car needs some pricey repairs. So this is my opportunity to say thank you for all your support. This is my first year being completely dedicated to my art practice as my full time job, and I couldn’t do it without you. I feel grateful every day. Thank you! I’m gonna keep making things for you for as long as I can! (my whole life?????? yes, if possible)

Here’s some sweet treats for you to check out:
